A little scary as my husband and I head off on a week long vacation in eastern Washington that will end with a run in the Chelan Man!
Vacations always seem to be a time to let my guard down and snack away. Not this time! I'm bringing a lot of fresh veggies and 100 calorie packs to help keep on track. What I will miss most is that I will not have an opportunity to log in and track my food on Spark People.
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. 2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. 3 There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.
4 Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun, 5 which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, ...
1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Are you interested in your goals, or are you fully committed? One of the most common complaints among goal setters nowadays is that there?s just not enough time to get to the ones that ?really matter.? The real culprit is that most people don?t raise their goals beyond the level of general interest. They?re waiting for a vague time in the future when other things won?t get in the way or when they wrap things up. In other words, when it?s more convenient. And of course, that time never comes, ...
Sure, try, try again. That?s great advice. Don?t give up, though, because you think of yourself as a failure. You are not. Success doesn?t just happen. It can take several tries before you even begin to make some progress. Think this doesn?t happen to anybody else? How about it happening to everybody else!?!
We all come across roadblocks in life, whether big, little, short, or long-term. We all find them. Some of us give up, but some keep trudging along. Which will you do? If every...
I went to a Dishmixer (potluck) at our church this last week and learned something new about diligence.
I will remember these THREE things in all areas of my life where I am trying to mold and create healthy habits:
1) It takes SIX weeks to become familiar with a new task.
2) It takes another TWELVE weeks before it becomes a comfortable habit.
3) It takes TWO weeks to forget a habit.
The good news is that it is a process and takes a fairly LONG time...
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believ...
Although I have not read her book entirely, I can identify with Molly Groger when she says in her book EAT (Eating Awareness Training) the following...
"I feel as though I'm beginning to know the the difference between the panic I always had about cleaning the plate and knowing that I can eat again whenever I'm hungry. It's like the difference between being let loose in a room full of gold and being allowed to collect all you can in only three minutes, or having access to the room...
I just could not resist posting something so fun after losing TWO more pounds (total 11). This is a 'Victory & Celebration' post after 2 1/2 weeks without losing a single pound.
Just say NO to Thunder Thighs, Cottage Cheese Thighs and Muffin Top:) I love the following Subway link to Burger Town!
It's time to raise the stakes; double or nothing. I WILL double my daily FRUIT & VEGGIE intake for the next two weeks to see if I can break my plateau!
One serving equals:
1 medium piece of fruit
1/2 cup fruit (raw, canned, or frozen)
1/2 cup cooked vegetables (canned or frozen)
1 cup raw vegetables
1/4 cup dried fruit
4-6 oz. of 100% jui...
Living a healthy physical and spiritual lifestyle is a daily choice. How will I survive ups and downs and daily challenges? Through strict training and encouragement.
Strict Training: 1 Corinthians 9:24-27
24Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that ...
