I don't have a problem with Al Gore. "The Future is Green," an essay by Al Gore. But I do think it's wrong to take words and phrases and ideas out of the Bible and use them for our own purposes. i.e. I make statement A. Statement A is from the Bible. The Bible is correct, therefore, my statement is correct.
In the essay Gore says, "The Bible says, 'Where there is no vision, the people perish.'"

Very good insight.
For many people the bible is, rightly, the only true anchor of knowledge. Because of this, it is often misused and misquoted so we need to be thinking people who examine statements in this very way.

I said a prayer yesterday
and one today; that's true.
You've heard the words before, my Lord,
but the moment is new.

I'm in a Mister Rogers mood this morning...
As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has—or ever will have—something inside that is unique to all time.
It's our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression.
~ Fred McFeely Rogers (1928-2003)

Well said Shea! That is what God does. In spight of our flaws he comes at us not with a moral or ethical whip but in love and acceptance. He does not need to tell us what we already know, and we do know it. Transcedent encouragement is His way. Thank you Supernal Master!
