My favorite prayer to date:

Dear Jesus,
I'm sorry that I _____. I'm sorry that I sinned against my cousin. I'm sorry I sinned against you. I try and try to be good but I just can't. I need you.

My favorite prayer is the Lord's Prayer. I have such a HUGELY different understanding of it since coming to AC3. I used to say it as a penance (after confession), or just said it by rote with no meaning. I love it when we break it down into sections and talk about their meaning. I love to pray it to God directly, with meaning behind it. I love knowing that Jesus himself gave me that prayer to pray to our Father. And I love its completeness of thought. There's nothing else that i need to pray for when I'm praying the Lord's Prayer.

P.S. Way to pray, Mariah!!! Are you really 9 now?? Sheesh!

"When you remember me, it means that you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some mark of who I am on who you are. It means that you can summon me back to your mind even though countless years and miles may stand between us. It means that if we meet again, you will know me. It means that even after I die, you can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart.
For as long as you remember me, I am never entirely lost. When I'm feeling most ghost-like, it is your remembering me that helps remind me that I actually exist. When I'm feeling sad, it's my consolation. When I'm feeling happy, it's part of why I feel that way.
If you forget me, one of the ways I remember who I am will be gone. If you forget, part of who I am will be gone. 'Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.' the good thief said from his cross (Luke 23:42). There are perhaps no more human words in all of Scripture, no prayer we can pray so well." -- Frederick Buechner

How about praying for those in the '10x40 Window' to receive the gospel message using M&M's? This prayer option revolves around one of my favorite foods (chocolate) and is a fun way to remind families to think and pray globally:)

BROWN = TRIBAL
Tribal people live mostly in Australia, Africa, South America and even North America. They believe everything has a spirit (water, rocks, sun, animals). They worship spirits and are afraid of making them mad. They also worship idols and practice witchcraft and go to witch doctors.

RED = HINDU
Hindus live mostly in India, Nepal, Suriname, Sri Lanka, and Bali (Indonesia). They believe in millions of gods who are good and evil. They worship idols by giving them flowers and food every day. Hindus believe that when they die they will come back again as another person or as an animal (cow, sheep, bug). Because of that, they don't eat meat.

YELLOW = UNRELIGIOUS
The largest group lives in China, and others live mostly in Communist countries such as North Korea, Laos, and Vietnam. Their governments tell the people that there is no God and that only the government can help them. There are not enough Bibles and pastors for all the people who become Christians. For example, in China, only 1 in 5 Christians have a Bible.

GREEN = MUSLIMS
Muslims live mostly in West and North Africa, Middle East, Central Asia, South Asia, and Indonesia. They believe in one divine being, called Allah, whose messenger was Mohammad. They believe that Jesus was just a good prophet, not God. They believe they have to earn their way to heaven by doing more good deeds than bad deeds.

ORANGE = BUDDHISTS
Buddhists live mostly in Southeast Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Tibet), Mongolia, and Japan. They believe there are many paths to God. They believe that meditation, yoga, and martial arts are some of the ways to become "enlightened." Most Buddhists have an altar in their home or workplace where they worship idols.

BLUE = ORPHANS & WIDOWS
A rising population of parentless children and widows around the world due to the AIDS virus—need someone to care. (James 1:27 - Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.)

What is the 10x40 Window? It is a part of the world where the most number of people live (4 billion), but where the least number of missionaries "go."

Who lives in the 10x40 Window? Four billion unreached people live in there, that's 2/3 of the world's total population! Most of the nations in the window are closed to missionaries or Christians, which means missionaries cannot live there.

Twila - This is really neat... What a great way to pray for many that do not have God's love and mercy in their lives! Where did you get the Window info? These statistics are thought provoking.

I actually found it while surfing the web for a Kreek Kids mission project. Always looking for youth and kids ideas for ministry. If you have any great links, feel free to send them to me:)
